Description
Create your own fused glass Christmas decorations in this fun, introductory workshop to the art of fused glass.
What will I learn?
We will show you the different types of glass, how they are used, how to add inclusions and how they are fired.
Please note: that due to the time it takes to fire fused glass, your handmade hanger will need to be collected from the shop at a later date or posted on to you (for a small additional charge).
What do I need to bring?
The cost of the workshop covers all the materials required as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.
What should I wear?
Due to the nature of the tools and materials used in the class you are required to wear sturdy, closed toed shoes. Aprons and safety goggles are provided.
About your tutor
Suzanne Barr is a fused glass artist and silversmith. She began teaching classes for Cornwall College about 8 years ago. Teaching is now one of her favourite things to do as she meets so many different people and enjoys sharing ideas and skills to create beautiful handmade objects.
Accessibility
Entrance is via the Inspire Makers shop. The workshop space is on the ground floor, however there is a step up from the shop to the back rooms. As it is a Grade II listed building, some doorways and spaces are narrow and may not be suitable for wheelchair users.
