Description

Start your jewellery journey with this 4 week beginners course.

Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 8.30pm – you must be able to attend all 4 sessions.
– 5 March
– 12 March
– 19 March
– 26 March

What will I learn?

Learn how to saw, file, solder and add texture as you create a collection of silver jewellery.  Each week we will build on the previous week’s session learning new techniques and gaining confidence.

Each session lasts 2.5 hours and will run over 4 consecutive weeks.

You’ll make a pendant, a ring, a bangle and a pair of earrings.

What do I need to bring?

The cost of the workshop covers all materials required* as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.

Don’t forget your reading glasses if you need them as there is a lot of close up work!

* The price includes silver to make the pieces demonstrated. If you wish to go bigger or chunkier in a session then additional silver can be purchased in the class at cost price by cash or card.  Jewellery boxes are also available at cost price.

During the sessions you can also ask about tools, equipment and suppliers if you wish to continue with what you have learnt outside of the classes.

What should I wear?

Due to the nature of the tools and materials used in the class you are required to wear sturdy, closed toed shoes.  Hair must be tied back and please do not wear loose clothing or scarves; you may not want to get your nails done before the session!

Strictly no alcohol to be consumed before or during the workshop.

Making a gift

If you intend to make your piece as a gift for someone else, you will need to know the ring size or bangle size prior to the session.  Sizes cannot be changed after the class.  Bangle size information can be found here: porthjewellery.com/faqs/
