Seaglass Bangle (Pirate Glass – Newlyn)

Handmade recycled sterling silver, lightly textured, bangle with a piece of pirate seaglass from Newlyn set into a sterling silver bezel.

“Pirate glass” appears black but when a light is shone through it is actually a very deep colour, usually green or brown. It is so called as before refrigeration and preservatives, sailors (and pirates) carried liquids in dark bottles to prevent them degrading and help them stay safe to drink.

Seaglass setting size: W 19mm x H 10mm
Bangle inner diameter: W 66mm (medium to large)

Hallmarked at the London Assay Office.

Each piece of jewellery comes with a care card, a small map showing where it was beach-combed, and is packaged in a grey Porth Jewellery gift box.
