Ami on Upton Slip Framed Etching
£45.00
Exquisite etching of Ami, found on Upton Slip, Falmouth.
Ami is the figurehead from the largest steamship ever built, an 1851 Royal Mail paddle steamer called RMS Amazon. She set sail on 2 January 1852 for the Caribbean, but after 2 days she sank about 100 miles south-west of the Isles of Scilly after catching fire in the Bay of Biscay. Two months later Ami drifted ashore at Falmouth.
To create such detailed etchings, Mo will initially draw her favourite Cornish landmarks before meticulously scoring the artwork onto metal plates ready for printing. After inking, Mo will then hand roll the plate through her vintage etching press to produce each unique print.
Also available unframed in either original ink or with watercolour highlight.
Limited Edition of 100.
