Dave Pentin is an art & design graduate of Falmouth School of Art who although working in the creative arts industry as a profession didn’t pick up his paintbrushes again until sixteen years ago when living in France.
Now permanently back in Cornwall with a studio at The Terrace Gallery, Penryn, Dave enjoys experimenting with gum arabic and acrylic inks. He runs workshops to share this fascinating layering technique and is a big supporter of Street Draw 24 and the Cornwall Film Festival. He likes to give back to the creative communities in Falmouth and Penryn whenever he can and guides a free Urban Sketching group every month.
Inspired by the landscape which surrounds him, this collection of work features scenes from Falmouth and his 2020 Ope series which began with the infamous Barracks Ope in Falmouth and extended to feature the fascinating Ope’s and Alleyways of Penryn. With two more in development, this series is soon destined to be included in a book highlighting the importance of these intriguing passageways in the history of Falmouth and Penryn.
