The Hide Studio
The Hide Studio, Cornwall is run by Rich Inight & Jane Pollock. All their work is handmade in their studio in Morwenstow on the North Cornwall coast. Their designs are led by the unique features of each piece of wood they work with.
Wood is usually turned “green” and then allowed to dry naturally. As the piece dries the wood often changes shape but they love the unique features this creates and do not feel the need to correct the results of this natural movement.
Each piece is numbered and is a one-off. They use a 100% food-safe & natural mix of raw linseed & citrus oils to finish their products and add a natural milk paint to some pieces.
It is important that all wood used by The Hide Studio has only travelled a handful of miles to the studio and is only felled where it benefits the environment to thin or remove a tree. Some wood comes from their own small woodland or from local trees which have had to be removed or have fallen naturally.

Each handcrafted piece is carefully crafted with love and attention to detail, making them truly special. The Hide Studio takes pride in using locally sourced timber, whether it’s from naturally fallen trees, sustainable woodland management, or even driftwood collected from nearby beaches. They strive to minimise their impact on the environment while creating beautiful and functional pieces that will bring warmth and charm to your home.
