Workshop Terms and Conditions

Please note that when you book a course you are agreeing to and are bound by our terms and conditions at the time of booking. We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes are effective as soon as they are published on our website. Please check the latest terms and conditions on our website.

Please also see our Workshop FAQs on our website here

Payments:

Payment in full is required at the time of the booking. We do not accept provisional bookings.

Accessibility:

Entrance is via the Inspire Makers shop. The workshop space is on the ground floor, however there is step up from the shop to the back rooms. As it is a Grade II listed building, some doorways and spaces are narrow and may not be suitable for wheelchair users. Assistance will always be given to any attendee with mobility issues. Please let us know in advance if you will need extra space or help so we can ensure things are ready for you.

Workshop safety:

We take the safety of our customers very seriously and it is therefore paramount that you follow any joining instructions, and the workshop rules that are given to you on the day, at all times.

For health and safety reasons:

  • no open toed shoes are to be worn to workshops as many of them involve sharp tools, flames etc.
  • you may be asked to tie hair back or remove loose items of clothing such as scarves depending on the type workshop
  • tools and equipment must not be used without prior instruction
  • it is your responsibility to wear any personal protection equipment when offered
  • any accidents must be recorded in the accident book
  • eating and drinking may sometimes be restricted in the workshop space depending on the type of workshop; you will be informed if this is the case at the start of the session
  • alcohol should not be consumed before or during a workshop
  • if you are having any problems, or you spot a health and safety issue, please alert the workshop leader immediately

Risk Assessment:

All workshops are risk assessed – a copy of the risk assessment is available to view on request. Classes are only suitable for those over the age of 16.

Photography/Video:

You are welcome to take photos and/or video of your work in progress, tools or demonstrations for your personal use and future reference only.

We love to show what people do on our workshops to inspire others to take up making. Therefore we may take photographs or video of you working and your finished pieces for use on our website and social media. Please inform us on arrival if you do NOT wish to be included in this.

Cancellation Policy:

If you book a workshop and need to cancel, you can do so within 14 days of booking and receive a full refund, providing this is not within 30 days of the workshop taking place. Refunds will be made using the same method of payment as used for the initial transaction.

Should you need to cancel after 14 days but more than 30 days before the workshop taking place, we will do our very best to fill your space and, should this be possible, offer you a full refund, a voucher for a future date, or an alternative workshop date.

No refunds or transfers will be given should you need to cancel within 30 days of the workshop taking place.

If you are booked on a workshop and do not attend on the day for any reason, no refund will be given. You are welcome to send someone in your place. Please call us in advance to arrange this.

We also reserve the right to exclude any attendee whom we feel is unable to work safely, or may pose a risk to themselves or others, for reasons such as ill-health, alcohol or drugs. In such circumstances, no refund will be given.

Our workshop descriptions explain the content of the class, the level of previous experience required and any additional costs which may be incurred in attending the class, such as making extra items. Please ensure you fully understand the requirements before booking.

If Inspire Makers Cancels a Workshop:

In the unlikely event of us cancelling a workshop, we will try to rearrange the workshop to a future date. If you are unable to make this rescheduled date, we can move you to another date of your choice, transfer you to another workshop of equivalent value, credit you with a voucher to be used at another time, or give you a full refund.

We will give you as much notice as possible but cannot be held responsible for pre-booked travel and accommodation arrangements.

Please note: We run our workshops based on the number of people booked, and reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a class where there are insufficient numbers to make the session viable.  Most workshops required a minimum of 3 attendees to proceed.
