Seaglass Cutout Pendant (Pirate – Gyllyngvase)
£85.00
Handmade pendant made from a piece of oval shaped “pirate” seaglass found at Gyllyngvase beach set into a sterling silver bezel. The back of the pendant has a cut out of a Cornish tin mine.
“Pirate glass” appears black but when a light is shone through it is actually a very deep colour, usually green or brown. It is so called as before refrigeration and preservatives, sailors (and pirates) carried liquids in dark bottles to prevent them degrading and help them stay safe to drink.
Seaglass setting size: W 16mm x H 21mm
Chain length: 18″ (45cm)
Each piece of jewellery comes with a care card, a small map showing where it was beach-combed, and is packaged in a grey Porth Jewellery gift box.
