Observational Drawing Basics – line, light and shadow. Understanding edges. The art of looking and translating visual information onto paper.
What will I learn?
You will be given an introduction to the art of looking, understanding edges, spaces, light and shadow and relationships within a drawing as well as some focus on different kinds of mark-making. You will take home a number of drawings showing different techniques.
No experience necessary.
What do I need to bring?
The cost of the workshop covers all the materials required as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.
Please bring something in which to take your work home such as a folder.
About your tutor
Victoria Pond completed a BA in Fine Art and then continued to Cornwall in 2008 to study for an MA in illustration. She has exhibited widely in group and solo shows and has recently turned to landscape painting, drawing daily inspiration from the beautiful Cornish countryside around her.
Accessibility
Entrance is via the Inspire Makers shop. The workshop space is on the ground floor, however there is a step up from the shop to the back rooms. As it is a Grade II listed building, some doorways and spaces are narrow and may not be suitable for wheelchair users.
