Seaglass Cut Out Pendant (Pirate – Gyllyngvase)

Handmade pendant made from an oval piece of “pirate glass” found on Gyllyngvase Beach set into a sterling silver bezel. There is an engine house shape hand-cut in the back of the setting.

“Pirate glass” appears black but when a light is shone through it is actually a very deep colour, usually green or brown. It is so called as before refrigeration and preservatives, sailors (and pirates) carried liquids in dark bottles to prevent them degrading and help them stay safe to drink.

Chain length: 18″ (45cm)

Each piece of jewellery comes with a care card, a small map showing where it was beach-combed, and is packaged in a grey Porth Jewellery gift box.
