Raku is a process which developed from a traditional Japanese firing technique developed in the 16th century. It involves the rapid gas firing of ceramic vessels in an outside kiln to around 900 degrees and then placing them into a reduction chamber containing combustible materials, The finished outcome is dependent on firing conditions and materials and cannot be reproduced making each item unique.

This vessel is a decorative item and not suitable to hold liquids or food items. Dust only, do not wash.
