By Smarties Lids on the Beach

Pretty floral picture created by hand drawn seed heads accented with carefully placed nurdles as the seeds. Displayed in a white painted box frame.

Nurdles are pre-production plastics which were on their way to be manufactured into plastic products. Blue nurdles are bio-beads used in water sewage treatment plants. Some are lost during handling and transporting, ending up in the sea and on beaches.

Size: 60cm x 20cm

Michelle beach cleans most weekends. Some things show up on most beach cleans. These include: Smartie lids, Lego, bottle tops, cotton buds, soldiers, hair clips, curled pins, remembrance poppy stems, cartridge cases, balloons, toothbrushes and small toys. Some plastic is broken and unrecognizable. Some has writing on and some floats over from other countries. She then washes and dries the interesting things to be used in her quirky artwork.

For every item Michelle sells, she makes a donation to the Marine Conservation Society.
