Nicky Stone

Nicky Stone starts each day with a sunrise swim in the sea before going to work in her studio (actually a very nice shed!) at the top of her garden in Falmouth.

Her figures are inspired by her experience of being in the world, her connection to others, to the earth, sea and stars. They are inspired by myth, legend, magic and whimsey. Nicky notices that her figures seem to evoke different feelings from people and she is endlessly fascinated by how they are interpreted and received.

Nicky Stone graduated from Falmouth College of Arts with a BA in Studio Ceramics in 2000. She has recently begun selling and exhibiting her work again after a seven year break whilst pursuing another career, but the clay kept calling her back.
