March opening hours: Tues to Sat 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Katie Godden Green lives and works in North Cornwall; between the beaches at Bude and the moor near Launceston. She is Head of Art at St Joseph’s School in Launceston; where she teaches Art and Photography. Katie studied at Chelsea school of Art, has a degree in Sculpture from Kingston University and gained her PGCE teaching qualification at Bristol University in 2003.
Working in daily sketchbooks, Katie Godden Green plans and sketches her prints and sewings. The colourful prints show oversized puffins and loud parrots heading out to sea, riding the waves off the back of fishing boats.
Katie Godden Green’s sewings tell ‘stitching stories’, telling stories through calendar months and as spring unfurls into summer. They are full of plants and birds from our natural paradise. The act of sewing is a peaceful, calm, slow process which allows her thoughts to linger and her stories to unfurl. Katie hand dyes the linen and uses bright threads to make her sewings.
