Alicia Breakspear
Alicia is a printmaker based in Redruth. Passionate about the natural world, her work combines her love for plants and printmaking.
Having studied Marine and Natural History Photography at Falmouth University, graduating in 2020, Alicia has a strong connection to capturing the hidden beauties within the natural world. Whilst photography is something she still enjoys, printmaking became a passion for her in 2021 when printing with plants became a new way of documenting her findings.
The technique of botanical monoprinting has been evolving through constant experimentation and refinement, seeking new ways and materials for capturing the tiny details found within plant matter. You’ll usually find Alicia strolling alongside the Cornish hedgerows then printing back in her studio space at Krowji.
