Jess Berriman Ceramics
Jess Berriman has always loved creating but it took a while to find something that really worked for her. Having enjoyed evening courses in silversmithing, which included making jewellery, she started making jewellery with other materials and found clay. With plenty of encouragement from her family, Jess created a studio in her garage and set to work.
The coastline in Cornwall provides a wealth of inspiration in colours, shapes and textures. She also takes inspiration from other forms of nature, flowers being a particular favourite. Jess enjoys using porcelain because of the vast possibilities it offers.
The purity, soft feel and delicate look is perfect for jewellery. It imprints well and so it is a great medium for intricate, delicate designs, and it takes the Jess Berriman signature subtle colour palette beautifully.
