Cornish Homemade

Lucy of Cornish Homemade moved with her family from Sussex to live in beautiful Cornwall in 2010. Within weeks she was invited to join a sewing group called “Swig n’ Sew” where they all worked on handsewn projects and grew in confidence together.

This re-ignited her love of textiles following a long and frustrating pause after finishing her fashion textiles degree and having a family. When her youngest started pre-school in 2015, Lucy started exploring free machine embroidery and in 2016 Cornish Homemade was born.

The beautiful scenery of the River Fal, and the beaches and harbours around Cornwall are a constant source of inspiration. Lucy can’t help but want to replicate these landscapes using the sewing machine as her pencil and layering the pictures with different textiles.
