Books n Boxes
Ken Futers of Books n Boxes began bookbinding over 14 years ago when struggling to find a suitable book to use as a holiday journal so decided to learn how to make his own. All these years and many hundreds of books later, Ken still loves the craft of folding, stitching, gluing and binding a new book.
Additionally he makes boxes from millboard, including slip cases, pen pots, pencil boxes, gift boxes and solanders, also called clamshell boxes. Ken covers his books and boxes with specialist papers including Japanese Chiyogami, old maps, sheet music and now his own hand marbled paper.
Many of Books n Boxes items are unique as Ken rarely makes the same item twice.
Ken runs workshops at Inspire Makers on bookbinding and box making. Details of his upcoming classes can be found here.
